ArcaOS

FreeDOS is open source software! It doesnÔÇÖt cost anything to download and use FreeDOS. You can also share FreeDOS for others to enjoy! And you can view and edit our source code, because all FreeDOS programs are distributed under the GNU General Public License or a similar open source software license.

Haiku

HAIKU is an open source operating system currently in development. Specifically targeting personal computing, Haiku is a fast, efficient, simple to use, easy to learn, and yet very powerful system for computer users of all levels. Additionally, Haiku offers something over other open source platforms which is quite unique: The project consists of a single team writing everything from the kernel, drivers, userland services, tool kit, and graphics stack to the included desktop applications and preflets. While numerous open source projects are utilized in Haiku, they are integrated seamlessly. This allows Haiku to achieve a level of consistency that provides many conveniences, and is truly enjoyable to use by both end-users and developers alike.

Icaros Desktop

Icaros Desktop is an Amiga-like operating system for the PC platform, with a full desktop environment, distributed on a bootable media. It's based on AROS, a lightweight, efficient and flexible open-source operating system, aiming at being compatible with AmigaOS 3 at the API level, while improving on it in many areas. Icaros Desktop runs native AROS applications but also the original Amiga ones under emulation, transparently integrating them onto its desktop.

KolibriOS

KolibriOS is a tiny yet incredibly powerful and fast operating system. This power requires only a few megabyte disk space and 8MB of RAM to run. Kolibri features a rich set of applications that include word processor, image viewer, graphical editor, web browser and well over 30 exciting games. Full FAT12/16/32 support is implemented, as well as read-only support for NTFS, ISO9660 and Ext2/3/4. Drivers are written for popular sound, network and graphics cards.

Visopsys

The goal of the OS is to create a fully functional OS for Computer Science students and alternate OS enthusiasts like us. Considering the fact that itÔÇÖs primarily an educational system, Visopsys surprised us with its usability.
