VB6 and Excel 2010 pia

bchrisemer asked this question on 1/17/2012. It has been viewed 1210 times, and is currently resolved.

I have installed VB6 SP6 on Win 7 64bit. After that I uninstalled Office 2007 and installed Office 2010 Prof. After doing this I do not have a reference to Microsoft Excel 14.0 Object Library in Project -> References in VB6. I have the libraries for word, outlook, etc. but no Excel. What do I need to do to make this available?

Thanks!
Bill

Does C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\Excel.exe exist?

Try to uninstall Office 2010, reboot, then reinstall. My guess is that because of the order (install 2010, uninstall 2007) the component was removed.

By re-installing 2010, the DLL should be available again.
