After surfing around the net, I've found very little information regarding installation of VB6 on Windows 7. Most of the information out there is for Vista, and most of it is queries for assistance.

To be proficient at troubleshooting name server problems, you'll need a special tool to make DNS queries, one that gives you complete control. We'll cover nslookup in this tutorial because it's distributed with Windows Server 2003 and with many other operating systems. We'll also cover another query tool, dig, that isn't part of Windows. VB6 installation on Windows 7 problems

I am very grateful for finding this site. After getting lost googling for ages, I found this site and it made sense. I am not a programmer, I am an amateur. I have written 2 programs in VB6. They worked fine on XP and therefore have not updated my vb 6 since I bought it and started learning to program about 14 years ago in fear less something stops working. Sooner or later I would have to move to Windows 7 so I am making the leap. Following the instructions in this site I installed VB6 onto Windows 7 64bit(I think) professional. On it I also have 32 bit(I am sure) Office 10 pro installed.

VB6 and Excel 2010 pia

I have installed VB6 SP6 on Win 7 64bit. After that I uninstalled Office 2007 and installed Office 2010 Prof. After doing this I do not have a reference to Microsoft Excel 14.0 Object Library in Project -> References in VB6. I have the libraries for word, outlook, etc. but no Excel. What do I need to do to make this available?

VB6 and WIN7

I think I entered question in wrong spot. I have a vb6 program which an end user clicks a file name in the file box on a form(vb6 program in florida). The pdf is located on a separate machine in New Jersey. When they the click the fle name the vb6 calls a sql 2000 stored procedure on the NJ machine which executes a com on the New Jersey machine which renames the pdf and also copies it to another pdf using filecopy in the com in the same directory. The problem is that the file box on the form in FLA does not refresh so the old name is still there. After 10 seconds or so it will refresh.
