Install VB6 on Windows 8

As most of the world knows, Microsoft has made available a consumer preview of Windows 8. While this is still considered beta software, I highly recommend you check it out. Some of us technology minded folks are charged with supporting legacy software, developed with Visual Studio 6 (particulary Visual Basic 6), and with the iminent release of Windows 8, there is some worry about whether our support tools will work with it. This tutorial will (hopefully) help you get VB6 installed on your Windows 8 system!

Troubleshooting DNS with NSLookup and dig

To be proficient at troubleshooting name server problems, you'll need a special tool to make DNS queries, one that gives you complete control. We'll cover nslookup in this tutorial because it's distributed with Windows Server 2003 and with many other operating systems. We'll also cover another query tool, dig, that isn't part of Windows. It provides similar functionality and doesn't suffer from nslookup's deficiencies.

Fold Code Manager into main KB?

I'm thinking about removing the separation of the Code Library and the main kb, folding the code library into the kb.  I think this would give a much cleaner experience, and one place to search for stuff, rather than two disparate libraries.

VB6 installation on Windows 7 problems

I am very grateful for finding this site. After getting lost googling for ages, I found this site and it made sense. I am not a programmer, I am an amateur. I have written 2 programs in VB6. They worked fine on XP and therefore have not updated my vb 6 since I bought it and started learning to program about 14 years ago in fear less something stops working. Sooner or later I would have to move to Windows 7 so I am making the leap. Following the instructions in this site I installed VB6 onto Windows 7 64bit(I think) professional. On it I also have 32 bit(I am sure) Office 10 pro installed.
