When you attempt to view the Properties of an object in a MMC (Microsoft Management Console) snap-in on Windows Server 2003 or Windows 2000, the Properties dialog is NOT displayed.

Example:

If you right-click an event in Event Viewer to view its` Properties page, the Properties page is not displayed.
This behavior will occur if the ole32.dll library is not properly registered.

To resolve this issue:

1. Open a CMD.EXE windows.

2. Type regsvr32 /S %systemroot%\system32\ole32.dll and press Enter.

NOTE: On a Windows 2000 computer, you may receive the following warnings:

Close all property pages before closing Services.

Close all property pages before closing Event Viewer.

Close all property pages before closing MMC Snap-in Name.and you have to use Task Manager to close a MMC snap-in.
