I hate tooltips. Some find them useful, and they can be, if used properly. Unfortunately, some programmers go a bit overboard. I'm looking at you, DigitalPoint.

Here's how to get rid of them in Windows Programs.

  1. Open the Registry Editor by typing regedit in the Run option of the Start Menu.

  2. Select HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Explorer > Advanced.

  3. Set ShowInfoTip = dword:00000000

  4. Exit from regedit and reboot your system
