Aeroshake gives you the ability to minimize all open windows with the exception of the currently selected window, just by grabbing it by the caption bar and giving it a shake. I hate it.

Some people don't mind it, and use it regularly, claiming that by minimizing the extra windows, there is less distraction from the task at hand.

I think that if you are that easily distracted from your current task, you might need to take a break from the keyboard, and go watch a sunset.

With all that said, you can easily disable the Aeroshake feature, with a simply registry change.

  1. Click Start
  2. .
  3. In the Search field, type regedit and press Enter.

  4. Navigate to the folloiwng key folder: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

  5. On the right pane, right-click and from the menu, select New DWORD (32-bit).

  6. Name the new key DisallowShaking

  7. Set its value to 1.

  8. Click OK.

Reboot your computer for the change to take effect.
