Yellow ! On PCMCIA Network Adapter

When using a PCMCIA network adapter under Windows 98 you might not be able to connect the computer to the network, and under Control Panel > System there is a yellow exclamation mark next to the card.

1. Click on START>RUN>

2. Type REGEDIT and click OK

3. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\VCOMM

4. Doubleclick on 'EnablePowerManagement' - change it to '0' based on the following: If the current value is '0000 01 00 00 00' change it to '0000 00 00 00 00' (Full Version). If the current value is '0x00000001 (1)' change it to '0x00000000 (0)' (Upgrade Version)

5. Close Registry Editor

6. Restart Windows

Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\VCOMM]
Value Name: EnablePowerManagement
Data: (0=disable, 1=enable)
