John Riccitiello is stepping down as Unity's CEO and president after leading for nine years. James Whitehurst, formerly of IBM, will take over as interim CEO. This change happens amidst challenging times for Unity.

Recently, Unity made significant changes to its developer pricing after facing major criticism for its proposed game installation charges. This decision not only affects developers but also publishers and distributors. Moreover, 2023 saw the company cut its workforce thrice, aiming to decrease expenses.

Despite the turbulence, Unity projects a Q3 revenue of $540 million to $550 million, marking a 67-70% increase from the previous year.
